Leadership Development

Leadership Development:

A core tenant of Crew 30 ethos is personal development and a primary component of that is both followership and leadership development. Whether an individual spends only one season as a crew member, or makes a career in fire, both Leadership and Followership must be developed to bring out an individual's full potential in whatever career field they choose. Wildland fire is an exceptional setting in which to develop those skills, from leading small groups, to pushing personal physical limits, Crew 30 is committed to exposing individuals to different opportunities for development.

Leadership Coursework

L-180; Human Factors in the Wildland fire service - Each crew member at a minimum is required to have completed L-180. This coursework is meant to bring to light human factors that effect wildland fire operations.

L-280; Followership to Leadership - Depending on timing, the crew strives to deliver the L-280 course to crew members as a way to develop both followership and leadership qualities, setting those up for success throughout their careers.
